Hello! If you are reading this, whoever you are, wherever you are, I am very grateful. It means a lot to me that you are voluntarily spending your time reading my blog. I hope you will find it engaging, illuminating and fun! If you don’t know me, or you want to get to know what this blog is about, please read the Q&A which you can access via the menu at the top of the page. If you do know me…well, there might be a few surprises in store, I’m much better at expressing myself through writing than through speaking!
So what’s this about then? Well the Q&A covers most of it. I want to achieve a balance of topics, I don’t want this blog to focus exclusively on one thing. There are so, so many things I want to share with you, dear random internet friends (and IRL friends, of course) and who knows where this journey will take me. For now, the hosting for this web address expires on May 1st, 2021. I hope I’ll still be blogging regularly by then, and fingers crossed I’ll find it worth the financial outlay to renew it. I enjoy writing, and this is primarily a hobby blog. I’m not trying to make money by making you buy washing machines on Amazon. It’s not that kind of blog. It’s far more personal than that.
As I’m sure you’re aware, the world is currently in a state of turmoil due to the COVID-19 crisis. It has killed hundreds of thousands of people, and every day doctors, nurses, and carers put their lives on the line to protect our loved ones. Before I go any further, I’d just like to say thank you, if any of you happen to be reading. We wouldn’t be able to get through this without you.
If however, like me, you’re bored and suddenly a lot less busy, I’d strongly recommend that you start writing, too. Whether it’s a blog, like this, or a novel, I’ve found writing to be not only a productive use of my time but also a sort of therapy, a distraction from the chaos of the world. Alongside my other hobbies, it keeps me up when life brings me down. If you do start writing, though, make sure you are passionate about it. If you’re passionate, you won’t stop, or get bored. You’ll do it, I guarantee it. And you have to write for yourself, not for anybody else. You have to believe in what you’re writing, and if you choose to share it with others, do it because you genuinely believe in getting your voice out there, not for the sake of money, fame and fortune. This goes for everything in life, as well. I will probably expand on this concept in a future blog post!
So, now you know what this is about. In the current situation, you can probably expect quite a few posts a week, given that I literally have nothing else to do. Once life returns to normal, I may post less often. But I will try and post as often as I can, especially as I’m paying £3 a month for the privilege. Have a nice day, and stay tuned for updates soon.
